Fresh Teacher providing access to resources and knowledge outside and inside his classroom for his marginalized student's success Raymond Noriega was fresh out of graduate school and jumped right into being the professor he always needed during his school years.

In his classroom, Raymond Noriega has a unit on transgender philosophies to provide people with a more diverse knowledge base. Transgender or gender diverse students such as myself appreciated this unit, however, not all students valued this unit. He himself is motivated when students come up and describe how what he is teaching or brought up made them feel seen and more a part of this world, along with giving students and seeing students use philosophical skills to navigate the world through different lenses. According to Noriega, another motivation of his is “What motivates me in part is that thing about taking away people's ignorance again, which ignorance is not, like, a bad term. I'm not saying that, like, oh, look at all these ignorant, fricking students. No, I'm just saying, like, everyone learns different things, right? Trans students will know what it's like to be trans. My CIS students won't. So when I talk about trans stuff in class, I've taken away the cis students' ignorance on that topic, right? So that's really useful because the world has a lot of moving parts, and there's a lot of things that are maybe not so good, I mean, like the way the trans people are being treated.” He wants everyone to be able to understand and see other peoples point of view. As a professor, he is there to help the students understand the world on a deeper level, provide them with diversity within their education, provide skills to navigate the world, and give resources that can help his students be successful. He wants to make students feel comfortable and safe with him, so they can get what they need. He tries to be the professor he always needed throughout
