In Kyong-Jee Kim’s article, “Medical student plagiarism in problem-based learning courses.” the author claims that an increase in copy and paste plagiarism is at rise in college, more specifically, in problem-based coursework(PBC). If PBC students are just using online sources to do their work, then how can society trust these students when they graduate. Online plagiarism is an issue because students are not learning what they need to in order to be successful. In addition, if students do not value their academic standing, society will lose out on important positions. Students experience anxiety due to social standards, and cheating can be a way to stop their issues. In modern schooling, the course rigor is more brutal than it was years before it. The easiest way for college students to solve their issues with school is to cheat.
