During the 1960’s there was a triple homicide in Jefferson County. The three victims that were gunned down at a rest stop on Interstate 81 were Peter, Barbara Ann and Gerald Egan. The police investigators did the best they could with the technology and procedures available, however, they did make a lot of mistakes. For example they had lost certain pieces of key evidence throughout the case, and a lot of pieces were not admissible in court. Considering the prosecution was dealt a bad hand, they did not fight hard enough to win the case, resulting in a verdict of not guilty.
