In to To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the main characters; Scout, Atticus, Jem and occasionally Dill always seem to come close to victory, but in the end they lose seems to be a perpetual repeat in the story. I think this is the case because of multiple moments in the story when this happens and just because some of the main characters are used to it.
In chapter six Scout, Jem, and Dill decided to go, and get a good look of the radley house because they have an obsession with Boo and his father. They come close to getting a good look, but just as they were going to leave Mr.Radley ends up catching them. Lucky for them he did not suspect it was three white kids, instead he thought it was someone trying to steal from his patch. Just as they reached the gate Jem’s pants get caught on the fence and he has to lose them to escape. Of course he did get them back but he didn’t get a clean look then get away like he had hoped for. His father ends up catching him without pants but luckily Dill saved him in the last second by saying he they had played strip poker.
In chapter 17 through 20 Atticus defended Tom with every scrap of evidence in Tom’s case, even though the odds were strongly against him he still made racists think about their decision because they were in there for hours which must’ve meant …show more content…
As we all know Tom Robinson, was a innocent and wrongly accused man it, and a racist, and sexist man ended up killing and all he thought about was getting revenge at Atticus he did not feel any remorse for his actions making everything that happened to him in the end truly
