My Grandmother: My Hero
Have you ever imagined how your life would be different if a crucial person were not in it? Some people are so vital to making us who we are that, without them, our very individuality would be changed. My grandmother is an essential figure in my life who has left a permanent impression on me. She is a woman of great influence because of her stability, her work ethic, and her independence.
My grandmother is the matriarch of our family. Because she has a close relationship with everyone in the family and a great deal of wisdom, her seven children and twenty grandchildren often seek her out for advice. We look to her for advice on everything from how to raise a child to how to mend our relationships. My grandmother appreciates the fact that we ask her for advice, but she never offers it without counsel being sought out. . I remember all the advice she gave me about how to raise my first child. Some things that you learn when you have a woman who been through it all. As a child with two working parents I always knew that Grandmother's house was a source of stability when the rest of my world seemed vacant. This sense of security has helped me face other challenges as they come along in life, like when I joined the military.
My grandmother also inspired me to follow my goals. Because of the trials she faced without shrinking back, I am able to have the strength to work hard and try to realize my dreams. My grandmother didn't have it easy. Because she was a single parent at a young age, she worked a large farm to feed her family. She received no help from the outside and was totally independent from her own family's help. My grandmother always stressed the importance of education to all of us in achieving our goals. My grandmother's example of hard work and her emphasis on education have strengthened me to pursue a college degree. Even though I will have to work to get through school, I know that if my grandmother ran a farm while raising seven
