Women and girls worked in the kitchen,cleaned,did chores and sometime worked in the field they weren’t allowed to go hunting because they were women. Back then women didn’t have the same rights as men. Boys would do lots of chores around the house to help their mother and when they were done they played games in the town but had very little time as there chores would take many hours. When the boys got old enough they got to go hunting with their dad. Back in colonial days there was lots of jobs for men. There was a gunsmith wich made and repaired most of the towns guns, the cooper makes containers and jars, the apothecary was very important they made medicine, it was like a pharmacy, The blacksmith made iron weapons and sometimes made some for the king, the cabinet maker made cabinets, the chandler made candles which was important because there was no electricity back then, the cobbler was a shoe maker, the milliner was the owner of a local clothing store, the printer printed stuff like legal document, the tailor …show more content…
They used them as slaves and took them without any agreement. The colonists considered them slaves, not even human. But when the colonists began to see their population drop like crazy they began to worry. So they released them and asked britain to send african americans because they needed workers. They used them to help in the field and in plantations. Many of the slaves agreed to work for the colonists for about seven years so they could get in to the americas but some weren’t as lucky they were forced to work for them for the rest of their lives.
