Johann Gutenberg (a.k.a. "John Gutenberg") was conceived sometime in between 1398 and 1399 in Mainz of well-to-do guardians, his dad being Friele Zum Gensfleisch and his mom Elsgen Wyrich, who was born in "Gutenberg", which was the name he embraced.
