Johann Sebastian Bach was a great composer of the Baroque era, with his music revered for unparalleled technical and improvisational brilliance. Raised in a musically immersed family in Eisenach, Bach received formal training in violin, voice, clavichord, harpsichord and music theory. Influenced by German, French and Italian music, Bach wrote cantatas, passions and oratoria, Church music, keyboard music, orchestral and chamber music, earning the title of 'Royal Court Composer'. His continuing influence was predicted by Johannes Brahms, who rightly said, "Study Bach. There you will find everything."
