The John Howard Society is a non-profit Canadian organization that helps guide and rehabilitate individuals who have just been released from prison. In 1867 a group of church workers wanted to bring spiritual help to inmates in the Toronto jail. However it diminished in WW1, it then restored in 1946 and was named the “John Howard Society” and later in 1974 was named “Prisoners Aid Association Of Toronto.”
The John Howard Society believes that everyone has the right to fairness, equity, dignity, and sympathy without discrimination.
