Wanting to make a difference is hard, but not impossible. In the graphic novel written by John Lewis, which elaborates on the topic of his early childhood experiences with racism and injustice, on page 28, we see Lewis preaching to the chickens on his family's farm. In this graphic novel, John Lewis uses faces, shading, color, and special lettering to present the emotions he feels towards the desire for change.

On page 28, one of the elements being used is shading and color. On the page, Lewis is outside on his family's farm preaching to the chickens, along with an outside shot of where Lewis is located. The shading and coloring within the black and white contrast create a very eerie perspective of the area, this also plays along in the close-up
