If he signs the confession just to save his life this would’ve been a bad decision and it would lead to a lot of bad rumors about John because according to Danforth. He warns that if he signs it or not rumors will be spread rapidly against John Danforth’s marshals would hanged it on the church front door saying that John is an evil man and he is a witch that will never be trusted anymore because of his acts of being part of the witchcraft is true. They were saying that just to make themselves good just to lie and hiding the real truth. Honestly, it’s a good thing that John went to the different path and it lead to the good future but sadly even he was executed he was name as a brave hero because of his heroic sacrifice to his community. He even though he was being accused for no crime he risk his lies for spending time with his family and he risk his own for proving that Danforth is a coward for not telling the truth why he would execute his good and loyal people for his community just because of the nonsense rumors because if his false beliefs and the way he treated his loyal people by accusing and executing them this would lead to the community to rebel against Danforth I honestly bet it did happened because of the people view of who heroic John is by sacrificing himself and how injustice Danforth’s system is. The system that Danforth is a head is Communist USSR because of how he acted against his good people. Danforth is Joseph Stalin because the fact is Stalin killed his people for the belief he thinks and Danforth is similar to that. John Proctor is a hero because of his act against Danforth injustice and his heroic sacrifice for the community….rest in peace John Proctor…. REST IN
