Historians focus on the context of facts of the particular event or time period, thus naming chapters will be very factual based. In Chapter I, would be renamed the Auction, the reason for choosing this title, is because majority of the chapter discusses how John Thompson witnessed the auction of his sister and then witnessed the results of the auction when visiting his sister at her new house. However, if Thompson chose a title for the chapter, it will be called, “We are separated in body.” This title discusses how John’s life changed after the auction and how his family said goodbye to his sister.
