Entry 3: 1)Passage:“You know I never noticed colors and clouds and stuff until you kept reminding me.” 2)Situation: On page 78, Johnny and Ponyboy, are at the safe haven( an abandoned church) when Johnny says this. 3)Importance:This part of the book is relevant to the theme “knowing your surroundings”, because you can most certainly relate to being so caught in your own self that you don’t even notice that there are bigger worse problems in the world than your own. 4)Analysis:Maybe you have your phone in your face while you're walking somewhere and past someone you know and they wave, but you don’t wave back because you don’t notice or realize they’re there.This shows that Johnny and possibly the gang don’t ever pay attention to their surroundings,
