This starts off with boy, this boy’s name is Johnny Gunther. His father’s name is john Gunther and his mother is Frances. To describe Johnny I would say he is tremendous, he has stick to it effectiveness, he has great willpower, he is forgetful of his belongings and, he is the most selfless person I have ever known. He has passionate love for science and interest in math. He lived in Vienne and England at a young age. He moved then to Massachusetts. After his family got settled down he started to attend Deerfield academy. Johnny was very close to his mother. The illness started off, when Johnny went to the family doctor complaining about a slightly stiff neck. The doctor who opened his head was Dr.Harvey Cushing a brain surgeon. Johnny makes fast recovery, he isback to his old self again. On May 28, Johnny faints. Gunther finds out the tumor is undergoing transformation to astroblastoma, a far worse condition of death and other horrible stuff. Johnny is discharged on June 1st. Johnny develops papilledema, a stick like tumor that damages the optic nerve and loses a great deal of peripheral vision. The bump on his head opens and leaks pus. He is taken to Wilder Penfield. Dr.Penfield tells Gunther that the tumor will kill Johnny. But john doesn’t give up and reads a newspaper on experimental ways on ridding tumor. In the newspaper, it says mustard gas can help tumors. Johnny was one of the first to receive dosage of this. A few months later John goes to dr. max Gerson and starts his controversial diet that helps rid of Johnny death sentence. This is not enough and later he develops a second bump and it must be drained or Johnny might die. He gets it drained and is back to normal. He returns home on February for the first time since
