Jonathan Swift said, “Some method should be thought on for ascertaining and fixing our language for ever (...) it is better a language should not be wholly perfect, than that it should be perpetually changing.” Should we take the words of an author for granted when it comes down to his own tool; the usage of the language? Not only English, but every human language is changing and it keeps changing throughout the years. The language should not be compared to a book covered in dust on a shelf. It is a living creature, traveling through the years, adjusting itself to time. Language change cannot be prevented.
