Jose de San Martin who was born in Argentina in 1778 was the heroic liberator of South America. Jose de San Martin’s father was a soldier and military officer with the Spanish Army. As a descendant from a military father he pursued in the same footsteps. Serving for more than two decades with the Spanish Army, he was able to achieve the rank of lieutenant colonel. Jose de San Martin continually distinguished himself militarily, by skillfully commanding resistance forces in Spain. Leading the revolutions against Spanish rule in Argentina, he proved to be a powerful leader.
