Josh’s paper benefits from how clear he presents his thesis on the second page of his essay. By telling me how Blaxploitation films have been grossly underrepresented, he sets up his paper to bring to light the significance of these types of films. With this, however, the paper leaves a lot out. For example, the historiography was not mentioned in his paper. However, I noticed that towards the bottom of the paper Josh says, “most scholars agree,” which is a subtle hint towards the historiography. It is here that could be an ideal place for the historiography in his essay. Additionally, there is little mention to the methodology of the project Josh will undertake.
