J.P. Morgan the largest bank in term of assets has been attacked and hackers are able to steal customers’ contacts information like names, email address, phone numbers and addresses. Affecting two-thirds of the American households and seven millions of its business customers.
Fortunately, these hackers are unable to gather much more sensitive data like account numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers or dates of birth. J.P Morgan has also mentioned that their customers’ money is safe.
These attacks appear to be caused by malware and hackers are able to access J.P Morgan network with the aid of an employee’s personal computer. Employees often used virtual private networks.(VPN) to access the company network.
