Q9) What are two major reasons Judith Carney came to the conclusion that Africans were the creators of the famous Carolina rice plantations?
There were two major reasons that helped Judith Carney come to the conclusion that Africans played a major role in the now famous Carolina rice plantations. First, at the time of the Carolina rice plantations most of the knowledge that European had on rice plantation. As well with the release of “Black Rice” in which Judith Carney is the author, it shows the evidence African rice in the Carolina plantations, it has been said that the rice crop was a major seller to Europe in the 1690 as well. Prior to Judith Carney research, many people assume the rice harvested from these plantations were from Asia. Carney broke this assumption by doing reserach of the sophisticated irrigation and drainage system that was in Americas and traced it back to West African origins. As such, there two factors can into play and as such reached a conclusion that Africans were the true creators of the Carolina rice plantation.

Circadian rhythms are considered to be our own biological clocks and it has been seen to directly impact people’s wellbeing. Another interesting thing regarding these “clocks” is that they are also able to impact the intensity of symptoms of the diseases that the person is dealing with. Circadian rhythms even though discovered in the 2nd Century bc, are still a mystery especially to the western world. The mystery and importance the circadian rhythm holds has sparked the interest of medical practitioners. if these practitioners are able to understand research more in depth of the Circadian rhythms this can unlock many of the mysteries on how the human body
