Throughout history, many emperors have existed. These emperors have had a long-lasting impact on modern society. One of these emperors is Napoleon, who led his army to numerous victories and at one point was at war with almost all of Europe. Marcus Aurelius, on the other hand, was a very philosophical and humble leader. The final emperor is Julius Caesar, who led the Romans to victory in a war against his rival, Pompey. While all 3 of these emperors have been influential in their own way, Napoleon has been the most provocative. The first emperor to talk about is Napoleon Bonaparte. Overall, all of these reasons show how Napoleon was a very provocative figure in history. The next emperor to be mentioned is Marcus Aurelius. He was emperor of Rome from 161-180 AD and was a renowned philosopher. Marcus created the philosophies called “meditations” which led to many great events, which is shown in the quote, “He has long been respected as embodying the Platonic concept of the Philosopher King as articulated in Plato's Republic: a ruler who does not seek power for his own sake but to help his people”(Mark, 2018). Marcus Aurelius was also very humble, as shown in the quote “Marcus reflects on a range of philosophical topics as well as challenges in his own life.”(Sellars, 2024).
