Caesar was a very intelligent and wise ruler, shown from the events leading up the coup, Caesar can be seen as a very ambitious and hardworking man. However it was not his careful planning in gaining power that inspired me the most in life, but his trust in chance when he crossed the Rubicon which inspires me the most. We as a society tend to look towards the future, and never taking risks due to a fear of “what could happen in the end”. Before the crossing of the Rubicon, Caesar can be seen doing all he can to achieve a future goal, much like our society, but when he was forced to surrender or gamble his life, he choose to do everything for the moment. While he was relishing in the moment, consequently, he was also fighting for his own future. Much like how our monotonous lives eventually become gray in comparison to an event in the future. We fall into a rhythm of being unable to find joy in life, and we only move forward by working towards a future goal. Ironically, we are all unhappy due the cultural pressure of becoming happy.
