Juno Beach landing was considered important during this era because Canadians were successful in the invasion, despite all the machine guns, artillery, booby-traps and mines included in the German's defense. On June 6th Canadians had a hard battle for Juno Beach 14 000 soldiers landed on the beach and only 340 Canadian lived and another 574 wounded, but once the attacking soldier had reached the German position a little behind the beach, they were able to move inland with some speed.
