Juror eight sees things in a methodical way and also likes to act things out to see if they add up. He is very persuasive in his voice and even at the very start of the play has to convince everyone to talk about the points made during the court hearing, …show more content…
For example as they search the scene where the man was found dead juror eight thinks to himself how common or easy would it be to buy a switch blade like the one the murder used it turns out that it was a super common knife and he happened to find one across the street from where the murder took place. When the jurors return to the court house and start talking things over amongst themselves they stumble upon the topic of the knife used to kill the man. At this point juror eight pulls out an almost identical knife from the one used. Held side by side these knives are exact which brings light to the fact that the kid could have lost the knife, and the one used to kill his father was coincidentally the same. Another example of his outside the box thinking was when the woman made her testimony about personally seeing the kid across the street through an E-train. This raises suspicions for juror eight as the woman said she had woken up during her sleep and seen it clear as day yet during the trial she wore glasses. Realizing this juror eight shares it to the rest of the jurors. Stating that the woman who seen the murder couldn’t be able to tell who the person was because when you sleep you don’t where your glasses and she had just randomly awoken starring through her window. He shows that even though there can be people in the justice system that maybe does not see the bigger picture or what’s at stake. Although this might be true there will always be a person like juror eight. He shows that the legal system will come through almost every time and will get the right conclusion. Cause there is people like juror eight who sees the good and the bad or the right and wrong in a person and will do whatever he possibly can to see that the minds of everyone in that room are in agreement and if one person disagrees he will see them out till the end. So they don’t make the mistake of sending an innocent man to prison or letting a guilty man walk. They are part of our city or towns too and want to see our city thrive in a safe and happy
