Fashion mogul Kate Spade was found dead inside her apartment on Tuesday morning in an apparent suicide hanging.
Police said Spade’s body was hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob in her New York City apartment. A housekeeper discovered the body around 10 in the morning, according to an ABC News report.
A suicide note was also found on the scene. Police declined to disclose further details about the note.
“The contents of that note, as well as the physical state of the apartment and the comments of the witness, lend credibility that it is an apparent suicide,” said Dermot Shea, lead detective of the New York City police.
