The argument claims that Ketner Springs is the best location for new businesses. In order to draw this conclusion the author relies on the premise that the community has a fine transportation system, parks, recreation department, a low student-to-teacher ratio and restaurants with kiddie menus. However the argument makes a number of assumptions that may not necessarily be true and fails to present any numeric information to fortify the conclusion. Therefore the argument is flawed and unconvincing.
The first issue to deal with is the author's assumption that transportation system, parks and recreation department play an important role for the people, who are going to open new offices and factories. In reality, this argument may be false in many cases. Business people are usually very keen on achieving their business goals. Hence they do not have much time for relaxation, walking in parks and visiting recreational departments. The author could fortify his argument by showing why these factors are relevant for the target audience. For example, he could say…show more content… However many of businessmen may not have families, because they spend most of their time at work and do not have enough time for this. Those people may consider this information inconclusive and make their choices in favor of a more business oriented community. Moreover, even if some business people do have families, it does not mean that they will live and work in the same community. It may turn out they will preverlive in one location and have all their business facilities in others. A good example here is San Jose Bay Area, where many businessmen live in San Francisco, but have their offices in San Jose or other places in Silicon
