Kevin Plank, a University of Maryland alumni, was the special team’s captain for the football team when he decided that his team deserved better gear during practice that would withhold the massive heatwaves. In 1996, Kevin Plank began designing a heat gear t-shirt which was named #0037. Plank went from selling t-shirts from the trunk of his car all along the east coast, to opening up his own headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland in 1998 (ubiaz). If it were not for Planks humble beginning, his company may not grasp the importance of culture in order to flourish.
Understanding culture is essential for any company to prosper, and goes far beyond just human collectivity.
