Before, I had the idea that social media and magazines were silly and that people influenced by them were naive. But, as I looked more into it and for what it really was. I used to have the idea that if you are being harassed online, well just block them or delete the account. But, I have realized that that is the wrong idea. Nobody should have to delete their personal social media page, a source of connecting with others and fun, because someone wants to be rude for no reason. The fact of the matter is that it each individual’s right to use social media and they should be allowed to do so without people intruding into their personal space. The same can be said about magazines or sources of advertisements. These sources, in a sense, still manage to intrude into your live and attempt to persuade the viewer that they are inadequate and need something extra in their lives to propel them to success. Magazines are aimed to sell products and to older individuals they have learned to process what they see differently, but for teenagers who are still easily influenced, it is a different story. These teens fall victim to feeling inadequate in terms of what is beautiful, good looking, ideal, or desired, and they try to imitate those same things rather than being their own person. It does not matter if you are a boy, girl, man, or woman, every person is liable to feel inadequate because of the overflow of media and social media flooding their lives
