On April 27th, 2024, I attended the Kilgore College Invitational Jazz Festival High School Jazz Bands. The concert will be held at the Dodson Auditorium at 7:30 pm. I chose to go see this concert because I like to listen to a little bit of jazz-style musicians.

After you walked in and got settled in, before they started it got dark. They had lights going on with the music. You could also tell that they made it a jazz-style scene.

I felt like all the music had the same texture to them. The harmony of all the instruments sounded well with each other. I loved the melody of the songs they played because they balanced well with each other.

One song that I liked was the one with the trumpet, I forgot to write the name down. I think I forgot because I was so focused on it and I just loved trumpet solos. The balance of high pitch and smooth trumpets surprised me when you hear an experienced person play.

The whole group has to be on par with each other to sound good. Especially when they crescendo because one instrument doesnt want to be louder than the others because it will be noticeable.

Like most music pieces they tend to repeat parts after specific points are played. Usually the parts that repeat are the ones that are catchy and people love. It cant alot in some music because then it feels like a song doesnt have structure to
