At times I’ve had to ask myself, who am I? What is it that I really want out of life? I soon realized that I didn’t know who I was. And it took me quite a while to find out exactly who I am. Where I grew up, everyone wanted to be just like somebody else. I, myself, was so busy trying to be someone else, I ended up losing myself. Now that I am about to graduate from high school, I know who I am! I choose to be myself. I choose the path less travelled. I choose individuality.
The degree program I plan to pursue is Kinesiology/Pre-Occupational Therapy. Upon completion of this degree program, I plan to further my education by attending Graduate School, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. With this degree, I want to work in the field that I enjoy most. What I’ve discovered about myself is that I enjoy working with kids who have disabilities. I see myself in the future spending many hours creating ways to help them become able to do the things they struggle to do daily. From my point of view, people tend to demobilize them because of their disability and this bothers me. I strongly feel that helping them find as much normalcy as possible, will help them to enjoy life just as much as someone without a disability.

Everyone in life needs to be loved; it’s an essential need to the human body. People do better when they know there’s someone out there who cares about them, and rooting for their success. It is my passion to care for, as well as help those who may be just a little different than most people. I enjoy helping them find ways to express themselves in a safe, yet fun manner.
