King Charles says that all his choices are from god and he rules under ‘divine right’ which means he listens to god and god only. This is massively controversial for him as all the god Kings in the past have taken our advice and used Parliament as key thing in have a successful reign. I think in the end we should just rebel as we will easily defeat him as he will have to get money from somewhere and no ones paying their taxes. Not only this but right from when he was named King he made lots of errors. Firstly he married a french lady when the French were not exactly our friends and adding to all of this she was a Catholic and the country had just reached a stable position in terms of religion. On top of the all of England’s past problems had come from religion and the country didn't want anything to happen again. The next thing that annoyed us was that we as Parliament had not trust in his adviser and in 1626 when we tried to punish him for a mistake but Charles ended up placing two MP’s in prison, even though he probably new what his councillor did was wrong.
Also his next mistake was just as bad. Charles and parliament were not the best of friends and parliament gave no money to the King, rightfully so as he payed no attention to us at all. Charles needed money so he could rule the country so he had to take taxes, he took what was known as ‘ship money’ (used to fund the army and navy) and used just to run the country which was wrong. Not only that he charged the counties who were not by the sea to and he was only meant to charge the coastal counties. At the start most of the people payed the tax (93%) but three years later hardly anyone payed less than 30%. This shows how much he hates us at Parliaments as despite what he is going through he still wont let us help him rule the country and therefore give him the money to rule the country.
The next problem caused lots more problems and therefore one of his worst decisions and mistakes, the Laud’s reform of the English Church. What he did was totally change how the church looked and acted. The hole arrangement inside was changed and he
