On September 21,1947, Ruth King gave birth to a baby boy named Stephen Edwin King, in Portland, Maine. Stephen had an adopted older brother named David. It was at age 2 that Stephens father walked out on him. His mother went from job causing the boys and Ruth to move around a lot. Little Stephen had a lot of problems with earaches and strep throat that he stayed out of school. “He has a terrifying memory of pain from when he was six years old.” When Stephen stayed out of school he got into science fiction and horror comic books. Stephen has written countless characters into his novels that make us shiver and get goosebumps just thinking about them. Much like his terrifying clown in IT, which gave many people their irrational clown fear nowadays, he has toyed with people's fears in his novels since the 70’s. Stephen has also put his own fears in his writings as well, letting the readers in on his personal demons. Stephen got most of his inspirations from everyday resources. From a very young age Stephen knew he was in love with horror and science fiction. He read comic books, mostly science fiction and made his own when he started. Now growing older, Stephen gets most of his ideas from Movies, nothing specific really. Movies and Books are really what any writer can get inspiration from. In conclusion, Stephen King is an amazing writer in my opinion. From grabbing his readers attention with his characters to the inspiration he gets from everyday things. From the start Stephen was set up for greatness, even when he created his own comic books. Stephen King is one of the most notable writers of our century and now you know why. His books have been made into movies which in turn have been great themselves. Only so many writers can make good books that make good movies. Stephen King is one of the bestselling authors, making scary and fiction novels since the 1970’s to our generation. Stephen King will forever be a horror/ Science fiction
