“I Want You To Kill Me” by Kirk Nesset is a short story written in the first person. This short story follows the point of view of a young man who is driving his girlfriend to see her dying mother. The narrator and the girlfriend’s mother do not get along very well, in fact, as the mother’s health deteriorates, their relationship continues to worsen as well. While on the way to the hospital, the narrator is driving as fast as he can to make it to the dying woman. The girlfriend jokingly mentions the possibility of crashing, and crashing ruthlessly.
