I think the most outstanding character in the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

is Klaatu, because without his presence in the film, the movie wouldn't be as interesting

or intriguing as it is. Without his role in the film the police wouldn't be on the hunt for a

mysterious spaceman that's out to kill the people of the world, or Bobby wouldn’t have a

friend to talk to when his mom was out at work or with her boyfriend. Also Professor

Barnhardt wouldn’t have a solution to his scientific equation or without Klaatu there

wouldn’t be a spaceship in the middle of Washington, D.C. As you can see Klaatu is a

very important character to this film and without him this movie wouldn’t take on such an

interesting plot.
