In the article, it stated that violence was the central way of utilizing dominance over other men, especially peasants. Gender roles is based on society, where a person is place in a social hierarchy will establish the amount of dominance they have or will be able to express. As the article continued, I realized that the church began to have an opinion and a voice to change the societal issues.
