16 month old baby Jailyn was left alone by herself to die. Kristal Candelario takes an extended trip to Puerto Rico to spend time with a man. They leave for ten days and baby Jailyn is left to defend herself. She is stuck in a playpen for ten whole days with nothing to live off. Soon the baby would die from many things, two of the main reasons being dehydration and starvation. Kristal did something horrible, killing her daughter who was not even two years old. No one forgives this lady for her horrible actions and decisions. She says that she knows it was wrong, though she was struggling so much and nobody knew. Jailyn’s case was ruled a homicide murder. “The bond between a mother and a child is one of the purest and most sacred bonds. It’s a relationship built on love, trust, and unwavering protection. You committed the ultimate act of betrayal,” Sheehan said. Jailyn was supposed to have a mother who was loving and would do anything for her child. Candelario pleaded guilty to child endangerment and one count of aggravated murder. There was also video evidence of Kristal hauling a suitcase, leaving to go on vacation. Her parents told the court that they still give her their full love and support for Kristal. Her extended family also took Kristal’s side on this.
