KSC4 Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and other staff.
One of the most import things to me is that my students feel a sense of belonging and acceptance when they enter the classroom. They will know that our class is a fair, trusting and respectful environment where they can feel free to express their feeling and concerns.
Examples of strategies that I have used to communicate with students include; o Meet the teacher letter – Before the start of the year I will send each student a meet the teacher letter introducing myself and outlaying my excitement to meet them, creating the foundation of the relationship before the school year commences. o Class meeting/ circle…show more content… Examples of strategies that I have used to effectively communicate with colleagues include; o Meetings - Regularly attending staff meeting, briefings and professional learning meetings has allowed me to gain new knowledge while learning effective ways of contributing my own ideas and perspectives in a professional setting. o Professional Relationships - Getting to know my colleagues on a friendly level, which create a more harmonious work place and helps to develop a support network helping to create a work place I want to come to every day. o Critical feedback – I have learnt to embrace and ask for feedback from my colleagues this has enabled me to continually improve my practice. o Student, parents are colleagues are the three main stake holders within the schooling community and I aim to ensure that I have professional and respectful relationships with all of them, to produce the most effective and enjoyable learning environment for all
