Kurds

The Kurds are a minority ethnic Iranian group who has occupied the regions of Turkey, Iran, Syria, and Iraq since the early 20th century. Since the Kurds are a minority group in all the regions they occupy they are often repressed, usually brutally. The Kurdish people have a population of around twenty-twenty five million people, which is large considering they are a stateless nation. The Kurds primarily occupy the mountainous areas within Turkey, Iran, Syria, and Iraq. The Kurds speak their native language, Kurdish. Kurdish people worship the religion of Islam; most Kurds belong to the Sunni branch of Islam. If the Kurds could have their own nation-state they would call it Kurdistan.

The Basque people are the oldest surviving ethnic group in Europe. The Basque population is also relatively large for being a stateless nation, with around 15 million people. The Basque people have primarily occupied the foothills of France and Spain near the Bay of Biscay.
