L.S. Friedman made a interpretation about Lord of the flies By William Golding. L.S Friedman is correct in his belief about Lord of the flies and the truth about human nature. In lord of the flies Mr. Friedman states that the beast while its physical aspiration did not exist it did exist in the hearts of the children. On page 152 when the children were dancing the slaughter dance, Simon is spotted and the children, mistaking him for the beast in the dark, surged around him and killed him. The exact words Golding uses for the slaughter “ ‘Kill the beast,cut his throat, spill his blood.’ The blue white scar was constant and the noise unendurable.Simon was crying out about some dead person.” Simon has just found the body of the parachuter and had his ritualistic vision to counter the totemic prayer going on on the beach.
