Research
As soon as the Wildflower Center opened, scientists began working on native flowers and plants. One area of interest is growing and protecting these flowers and plants. Another is saving their seeds. From the beginning, the Wildflower Center collected seeds of thousands of types of native flowers and plants. Researchers put aside more than six million seeds for the worldwide Millennium Seed Bank. Researchers also examine how flowers and plants work together and depend on each other. All this knowledge is used to develop landscapes that include native flowers and plants.
The Wildflower Center shares its findings in many ways. There is a library and a database on groups and companies that concerned with native flowers and plans. The center also makes fact sheets for people who want to know about the native flowers and plants in their area. Everyone, including home gardeners, teachers, and park managers, can look up information and ask questions through the center's
