His biggest impact of his people came from his perseverance and grit. He inspired other African Americans because he overcame all odds of trying to change the community with black culture while everyone was against him and many people were inspired by him making a change (Overview of (James) Langston Hughes). What he did for his community was that he showed them that they can overcome anything and there is always hope to make a difference. The inspiration caused many African Americans to take action and try to make a difference in their community. For example, many people started to write music, play instruments, write poetry, while some people even started to create jazz clubs, build black neighborhoods, and build a black school for offsprings of slaves.
