Although kids are not putting on as much weight now, in the future if they are laying around without any physical activity, then they will become obese. That “He found the inspiration and discipline he needed to overcome some of his negative habits and instill positive ones in his daily routine.” This means that if parents or guardians are not getting involved with physical activity or even just encouraging their kids to get out, then they can be at fault. If when kids are young, and they see their parents laying around doing nothing, and since all kids look up the their parents, then they will do the same thing as their parents and lay around. As stated by the University of California San Francisco, “A child with one obese parent has a 50 percent chance of being obese. When both parents are obese, their children have an 80 percent chance of obesity.” This quote is showing that if a kid has just one parent who is obese, then they may become obese in their adulthood. What all schools should be doing differently is giving children more time for gym class or recess. Sometimes, our school systems are flawed; just because they feed us healthy food does not mean that we will be healthy. On the contrary, there must be a balance between eating healthy and exercise. We are not able to get the exercise portion if we do not have gym class. Gym class assists us in building strong foundations and habits.
