In the scholarly article How Older People Position Their Late- Life Childless: A Qualitative Study, Allen conducts a study that dives into research on how older adults perceive their paths in later-life childless (Allen 2013). Within this study Allen 38 diverse, participants (Patton 1990) each participant was given a semi instructional interview (90 mins) the results of this interview were that most participants were positive about living a childless life, and see their lives as an enjoyable way of living. In my opinion I was not expecting these results to appear from this study done. These results are shocking because I expected the opposite reaction from the parliaments. In this chapter Connidis says “ Child-less refers to never having, children, bt some distinguish between childfree and childless to make the point that some see not having children positive and other negatively.” (Connidis, Pg. 179) As said before from Allen's research most in not all of the participants were happy with being childless. I enjoyed reading this informative take on it because you can see the default in the research. Not everyone is happy being childless and although the study showed those participants were, I think it's important to say some don't always have the same positive feelings about being in a lone
