In the documentary we watched “Latinos Beyond Reel” we watched how Latinx people are portrayed in the cinema in many different ways, in my personal opinion most of them are bad I will have to say. The film showed us how Latina women is being portrayed in the cinema as a symbol of sexism. On this week reading Bergs talks about “the semiotics of stereotyping” and, the different elements that it consists of. In the film “Bandidas” protagonist by Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz there’s a symbol of sexism even in the cover of the film. The cover shows two women with weapons on them and with a really sexy outfit that will grab men’s attention.
