The Park has tons of different ways to experience the animals of Africa. They have everything from roughing in tented camps in the African wilderness to staying luxurious hotels. Kruger is special in that you it is a self drive experience. Meaning you can drive your car anywhere on the paved roads roads around the park. Once I got there I was amazed at the amount of things to do in the park. They had everything from wilderness trails, and mountain biking, to bird watching and golf. The amount of animals there truly didn't hit me till got into the park. I was afraid to blink because I was scared I would miss something. The first thing I did was go a game drive at sunset. As we were driving I saw Lions silently hunting their prey and a herd of Elephants come to the water hole to drinks. To see the animals live in their natural habitat was amazing. As the Sun set over the golden grass the sky turned a bright orange as the giant Sun slowing set behind a tangle of trees. They tell their stories on walls so everyone can see them just like we do with our Facebook. After this engaging experience at the Park I was sad to leave however I only had 2 days left in Africa and I want to spend it wisely. I left the Park early in Morning and left for Mount Nyiragongo. Mount Nyiragongo is the one of the biggest and most beautiful lava lakes in the World. The only problem is getting to it the lake is in 11,380 ft high volcano. It took us 5 hours to make the climb. The rocks were loose and I almost lost my balance a few times. As we neared the top the temperature began to drop rapidly soon it was ice cold. I ask the guide he said it was below freezing. However I didn’t feel the true strength of cold till stop sweating from the difficult climb and began to rest at the summit. As you look into the volcano you are meet with a beautiful speculate that no picture can capture. The lava burns a bright hot red and flames rise up out of the lake. The lava makes lines in lake that seem to draw pattern reminiscent of Mt. Doom in Lord of the Rings. I asked myself while looking at the lava lake many times, “how can something so destructive, be so
