When it comes to owning a pool, it is not all sunshine and margaritas. There is some responsibility that comes with it. While a lot of it is the basic pool maintenance such as fishing leaves out of the water, or putting in certain chemicals to keep the pH balance evened out, there are a few extra steps that you can take to limit the amount of work that stands between you and the sunshine and margaritas we mentioned earlier. The best part is most of them you can include in your normal lawn work.

Now not many people tend to want to see the words lawn work and pool in the same article. We promise though, you can spend more time in your pool then on your lawn mower. Speaking of your lawn mower, lets move onto the first bit of advice.

Get a Lawn Mower with a Bag: When it comes to the lawn equipment you use for your grass, use one that comes with a bagger attached. Rather you use a push lawn mower or a riding one, having a bagger attach reduces the amount of grass that is left behind afterwards. If you already own a lawn mower, many have attachments that can be purchased for it. You can empty the bag into a proper medium instead of leaving it on the ground so the wind blows it into the pool.

To reduce the chances of leaves falling in your pool, when the branches on trees around the pool start getting too large, give them a quick trim.
