Work environments differ based on a variety of variables. Whether it’s something as minimal as the number of employees to the types of services your organization offers to its customers. The main goal is to provide a type of leadership that benefits everyone on the team. My team is combined of four individuals, James Hasler, Lina, Taylor, and myself that all have different behavioral styles. It’s vital to be able to understand each style pertaining to each individual and deciding on the best leadership style in order to have a harmonious team, in which everyone would find satisfactory. Dominance, interactive, steadiness, and cautious are the four different types of behavioral styles. Each behavioral style has a substyle and this substyle gives a more in depth explanation of the individual and the type of behavior and characteristics they present in different environments. Starting with James Hasler, his behavioral style is cautious and his substyle is the assessor. Being the most people-oriented of the four different behavioral styles, individuals with this style are excellent listeners, supportive, and great team players. My substyle is the go-getter. Go-getters are less indirect, and open than all the other substyles pertaining to the steadiness behavioral style. Even though they may be indirect sometimes, they can be very direct in situations that are task-focused. The main goal that motivates go-getters is the desire for a steady flow of more accomplishments. They do become guarded under pressure, but thoroughly think through plans and are self-reliant.
