Reading 5: Learning How to Die in the Anthropocene

“If we want to learn to live in the Anthropocene, we must first learn how to die” by Roy Scranton.

The definition of Anthropocene is representable “the idea that we have entered a new epoch in Earth’s geological history, one characterized by the arrival of the human species as a geological force."

Over the reading, I cannot find a relationship between this reading with my art field, digital media art. The article mentions about the fall of our human, which is people cannot stop the damage of climate change. From the article, author describes this event that he overcame in past.
He was a private in the U.S Army in Iraq, where had war. Moreover, he mentions the natural disaster that has happened around the world. Therefore, the global climate change is more dangerous than the man-made destruction, which is the war,

Generally, he states that the safety zone of the Earth already passed, so people have to understand the fact while living in this Anthropocene world.

The author also states that human created the impact of the climate change. People burn the fossil fuel to release carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. It devolopes the global warming. When the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere increase, it will melt the ice, and it will effect to entire plannet because the water increase, the planet will have less place to grow food product and some other natural disaster, which is flood, earthquake, hurricange. However, I believe that this is not all true. Surely, the human produces a number of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, but it doesn’t mean that human make the Earth’s temperature increase.
