Personal qualities that a legal nurse should have include having strong written and oral communication skills,because the nurse should be able to put large amounts of confusing informations into words that are easy to understand for the audience in the court when defending your case. Also they should be organized because there is a lot of paperwork and patient records that this kind of nurse has to keep so they need to keep them in a specific order so they don’t get confused and they have it neatly and easy to access. Another personal quality for a legal nurse consult is that they have to be easy to work with. They need to be able to have patience when one of their patients is angry. Some of their patients may be very calm and others that might be very upset. First you must get an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Then take a National Counciling Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and ofcourse pass it. After passing that test you are required to work as a registered nurse for five years and then get atleast to years of expirience in legal nursing. Then after your two years of expirinece you can get your Legal Nurse Consult Certified (LNCC) by the board. The board is known as the American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board (ALNCCB).
