When I first started working on this speech, I knew it was going to be tough to argue. Marijuana is a controversial topic that most people feel strongly about. A lot of people (especially the millennial generation) want marijuana to be legalized everywhere because they enjoy it. However, they do not realize how it can affect the human body. I feel as if my speech gave a strong argument with statistical evidence to prove that marijuana would not be beneficial to our state. A couple in front of small audiences, and then one in front of the whole school. This prior experience helped me in this class some, but I was still very nervous at first. I went back and watched my first speech, and then I watched the persuasive round two. I was surprised on how much confidence I had gained. My last speech was far better than my first. My articulation, nerves, vocal variety, and eye contact had all improved. I can honestly say that, although this speech class has been difficult, it taught me a lot and made me a better speaker. I now have confidence in my abilities to speak to others in regular conversation and even in public
