March 22, 1765 Dear Diary,
Today I got a letter in the mail and the return address read “First Continental Congress 520 Chestnut St. Philadelphia, PA 19106.” On the front of the envelope it said “Support our Troops and pay your Taxes.” I ripped open the letter knowing it would be something that Congress passed or something to do with the redcoats. The letter read “Dear all Colonist, on this day the congress has passed the new taxing system. The new system is could the Stamp Act and it is where all colonist is forced to taxed for every piece of printed paper they used. This money is to go to the troops and to help buy and make supplies for the army. None of this money will go to Britain. Thank you for all your support for the troops.
